I have had pancakes, bread and butter on my mind for weeks.  Since we enjoyed our brunch pancake kafe I can't stop thinking about flavor combinations. I love love love vanilla and it really comes through in this Vanilla Bean Honey Butter Recipe. Scrumptious enough to eat with a spoon, this butter is sweet and bursting with vanilla flavor.  It is a total treat when spread on homemade bread and heated.  It reminds me of a bear claw I would eat when I was young, smothered in butter.  So delicious. I made this butter to serve with our pancake bar, but it is fabulous everywhere.  Cover and refrigerate when not using and it will last for weeks. Speaking of sweet breakfasts...  I am so excited that in a few weeks we will be eating beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans!  I am so excited I could scream.  We will be enjoying a family vacation for an entire week.  I am researching and going crazy trying to put our itinerary...

The next few days of vacation were fantastic.  The New Orlean’s Audubon Zoo is truly worth dedicating a full day to it or you can combine it with Magazine Street shopping and tasting, like we did to make the most of a day of vacation.  We are so grateful to have been invited to enjoy a family vacation in New Orleans.  Make sure you check out our first vacation post Frozen Café Au Laits, Family Vacation in New Orleans and a GIVEAWAY! Spending a day at the zoo in New Orleans may very well change your mind about zoo’s all together.  After purchasing the Audubon Experience Package we were so excited to visit the zoo, aquarium, insectarium/butterfly garden and IMAX theatre.  We dedicated most of the day to the zoo and Magazine Street (we will share our visits to the other Audubon attractions on Friday – so make sure you check back).
